As the chief officer of Washington State SHRM, the president provides guidance to volunteer leaders who are responsible for accomplishing state and SHRM objectives, in addition to establishing goals in support of the SHRM mission and objectives.

The past president continues to serve as a member of the board for continued leadership and advice to the current Washington State SHRM President. As foundation director, this role promotes and represents the interests of the SHRM Foundation and its activities to Washington State SHRM.

Past President/Foundation Director

The past president continues to serve as a member of the board for continued leadership and advice to the current Washington State SHRM President. As foundation director, this role promotes and represents the interests of the SHRM Foundation and its activities to Washington State SHRM.

The president elect serves as an understudy to Washington State SHRM President, working to help establish policy, strategies, and objectives consistent with Washington State SHRM Board Policies.

Secretary

The secretary is responsible for prearing the proceedings of all Washington State SHRM meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining records.

The treasurer acts as the financial officer and advisor to Washington State SHRM board of directors while maintaining records for legal and tax correspondence.

Membership Director

The membership director provides leadership to membership activities in chapters, particularly assuring that chapter membership directors have access to resources necessary to recruit at-large SHRM members to affiliate with chapters, local chapter members only to SHRM, and non-affiliated HR professionals to both organizations.

Certification Director

The Certification Director supports Certification Chapter leaders and monitors and evaluates global and local trends in SHRM Certification.

Programs Director and Co-Conference Director 2024 & 2025

The program director provides support to each chapter's program director and chapter president by being a resource for professional training and development activities for Washington State SHRM chapters and their members. The conference director is responsible for managing all activities related to running the annual Washington State SHRM conference.

Legislative Affairs Director

The Legislative affairs director monitors and evaluates on a continuing basis pending legislative, regulatory and legal action at the federal, state, and local level that may have an impact on the management of human resources.  Working in close cooperation with the Senior Associate, State Affairs at SHRM headquarters to carry out these responsibilities, while spearheading efforts to promote Legislative Affairs to chapter members and leadership, and to publicize successful Legislative Affairs programs in the local community.

The college relations director supports student SHRM members to facilitate long term partnership between SHRM student members and SHRM professional members.

Diversity & Inclusion Director

The diversity and inclusion director supports Diversity and Inclusion Chapter Leaders and SHRM members in the state of Washington, and continuously monitors and evaluates global and local trends and best practices in diversity and inclusion issues. They also spearhead the effort to diversify Washington State SHRM membership / leadership and to publicize successful diversity and inclusion programs in the local community.

Workforce Development Director

The Workforce Development Director monitors and evaluates state and local workforce needs and activities. Working alongside local chapters to collaborate and encourage involvement in building career pathways, new talent pipelines, community relations, workforce retention, and reduction strategies.

The partnership director works with the Washington State SHRM board to identify annual revenue goals for partnerships, and identifies organizations in Washington state to promote Washington State SHRM partnership opportunities. They are responsible for achieving annual partnership revenue goals of Washington State SHRM.

The Field Services Director acts as a liaison between SHRM and Washington State SHRM as well as other professional and student members and volunteers by answering questions, providing guidance and promoting SHRM member benefits.
